As its name would suggest, The Forge in the village of Steel, was previously a metalworker's forge. We have taken the original building and crafted it into a charming studio cottage offering cosy self-catering accommodation for two in the beautiful setting of the Northumberland countryside near Hexham. With high quality furnishings for comfort, and French patio doors and floor to ceiling windows to make the most of the excellent views, the cottage is perfect for couples on a romantic break or weekend away.

Designed to make the best use of the space available, The Forge Cottage in Steel is a studio cottage with all accommodation, bar a shower room, based in one room with designated 'zones' for relaxing/sleeping, catering, and dining. The lounge area features two comfortable chairs and a flat-screen TV with Freesat channels and a DVD player. The dining area has an intimate table with two chairs; and the kitchenette features a hob, microwave and fridge. A 5' wall-bed folds out into the lounge area. The shower room features a shower cubicle, WC, sink and a towel-warmer.

The Forge Cottage sits in the grounds of our own property and boasts a small patio garden with excellent panoramic views of the rural countryside that surround the pretty hamlet near Hexham. We provide patio furniture so that you can enjoy a meal or drink 'al-fresco'. There is off-street parking available for guests vehicles. All heating and electricity costs are included in the rental fee. Clean, fresh bedding and towels provided. Hexham, with its magnificent abbey, racecourse and range of places to eat and drink is just over five miles away.
